Understanding Assessment
Psychoeducational Assessment
A psychoeducational assessment is a collaborative process designed to understand the factors that shape a child's learning, behaviour, and well-being. Every child brings a unique combination of strengths, challenges, and life experiences. An assessment helps uncover what those are, and why they matter.
Through a series of standardized tasks, observations, and interviews, we explore how a child processes information, manages emotions, approaches problem-solving, and engages in schoolwork. This allows parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to understand not only what a child is struggling with, but also why those struggles may be occurring.
The Goal is Clarity
When families understand the underlying psychological and learning factors influencing a child's daily functioning, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about support, intervention, and advocacy.
Beyond Diagnosis
Assessments are not simply about diagnosing. They offer a holistic portrait of a child's functioning—academically, emotionally, and cognitively—and outline supports that can meaningfully improve their learning experience.

What We Offer
Assessment Services
Every assessment is tailored to the child/individual. We take the time to build rapport and establish a sense of safety and connection, allowing them to be themselves throughout the process. Rather than a rigid or impersonal approach, assessments are conducted in a way that feels natural and supportive, helping individuals feel at ease rather than "assessed."
ADHD Assessment
Attention & Executive Function
ADHD can present in different ways, including primarily inattentive, primarily hyperactive/impulsive, or combined presentations. Challenges with attention and/or hyperactivity can also be associated with other factors, such as anxiety, stress, or learning difficulties, and a comprehensive assessment helps clarify how these challenges are presenting and ensures appropriate recommendations.
Autism Spectrum
Social Communication & Sensory
Using gold-standard tools (ADOS-2 and ADI-R), we provide comprehensive understanding of social communication, sensory sensitivities, and behavioral characteristics with evidence-based insights.
Giftedness
High Cognitive Abilities
For children who demonstrate advanced reasoning or learning strengths, this assessment helps clarify cognitive abilities and inform programming that supports continued engagement and growth.
Psychoeducational
Learning Profiles & Academics
Comprehensive examination of cognitive abilities, academic achievement, memory, and attention. Results support IEP development and provide practical insights for teachers and families.
Mental Health
Emotional Well-being
Gain clarity on anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation, or self-esteem challenges. Understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact to affect daily life.

Adult Assessments
Clarity, context, and understanding at any stage of adulthood
Many adults seek psychological assessments later in life, often after managing challenges related to attention, learning, emotional regulation, or social functioning. Over time, it may become clearer that certain difficulties, such as chronic overwhelm, burnout, workplace or academic struggles, or feeling out of sync with expectations, are not simply a matter of effort or willpower.
How adult assessments can help
- Provide clarity and context around cognitive, learning, and emotional functioning
- Identify strengths and patterns that may not have been previously recognized
- Support informed next steps at work, school, or in daily life
We offer adult assessment services across the same areas listed under Services, including ADHD, psycho-educational, autism-related, and other psychological assessments. Fees are offered at a flat rate and may vary depending on the type and complexity of the assessment.
If you are unsure which assessment may be appropriate, an initial consultation can help determine the best next steps.

She has completed extensive assessment-focused training through internships and clinical practice in both Toronto and Calgary, and has pursued additional specialized training in autism assessment through ASERT (Alberta Spectrum Education and Research Training) in Calgary.

She provides assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults, and is known for her warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach. While assessments are evidence-based and methodical, Claire places a strong emphasis on making the process feel supportive, respectful, and approachable.
Originally raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Claire recently relocated to Windsor with her partner and is excited to build her practice within the Windsor-Essex community. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her cats, watching crime documentaries, travelling, and exploring new food and restaurants.
